Safeguarding for children

Bishop Chavasse CE Primary School Child Friendly Safeguarding

What is Safeguarding and Child Protection about?

All of the adults around you think that your health, safety and welfare are very important.

In our school, we respect all children, and help to protect your rights.

We do our best to help children make good educational progress.

We want to teach you how to recognise risks in different situations, and how to protect yourselves and stay safe.

How do we protect you at Bishop Chavasse CE Primary School?

We provide a safe environment for you to learn.

We are a school where everyone has the right to feel SAFE; the right to LEARN without undue distraction or disruption and the right to RESPECT.

We want to help ensure that you remain safe at home as well as at school. We think it is important for you to know where to get help if you are worried or unhappy about something. Need to talk?

Mrs Hood, Mr Lucas, Mrs Abdullah, Mr Fenton and Mrs Ley will ALWAYS be there for you – just tell them what’s worrying you.

If you don’t think you can speak to an adult in school, leave a note in your Key Stage Worry Box on the corridors.

You can also phone ChildLine on who will listen to you and give you help and advice - call 0800 11 11.

Our safeguarding leaflet is available in reception for all parents and visitors to the school

Tips for staying safe online:

  • Make sure you keep new online friends strictly online. If someone you don't know asks to be your online friend you must ensure an adult knows about it.

  • Know how to use the CEOP Button and how to report it to the CEOP Centre if you are concerned about someone’s online behaviour towards you.

  • Remember that everything that you say and do online can be saved and seen again. Make sure that you are using kind words at all time. Help to make online a safe and happy place.
