Day 1

EYFS

Day 1

Welcome to the day 1 of EYFS unscheduled home learning. If you are reading this it means that we cannot complete our learning in school today. However we have put together a range of learning activities for you to complete at home. You can take photos of your learning, these can be sent into us at school, using the school office email address (office@bishopchavasseschool.org.uk), or you can use a notepad or paper and you can bring this into school when we reopen.

Literacy

We have been learning lots of sounds using songs, please find the link below. Sing along to the songs with your child and practise making the actions for each sound.

We have also been learning to write all our sounds and have begun to spell the tricky words such as 'I', 'to' and 'the' correctly. Please practise writing all our sounds and tricky words in a range of ways, for example using paint or chalk.

Phonics

We are so proud of the progress you have made in phonics this term.  Today we would like you to focus on practising your blending skills, focusing on CVC and CVCC words. It is wonderful to see so many of you beginning to read 'real' words, we would now like you to practise reading 'nonsense' words too.

Please click on the picture below to take you to the PhonicPlay website. We would like you to complete the 'Buried Treasure' game focusing on all the 'Phase 2' sounds. If you are confidently reading these words, move onto 'Phase 3' and practise reading words containing the sounds 'j' to 'z'. See if you can scan each word first, to spot the digraphs in each word.
