PTA Online Auction – can you help?
The Bishop Chavasse School PTA is very excited to announce that we will be running our first ever Online Auction, to take place 19th – 25th May 2025.
Over 40 amazing local businesses (and even businesses further afield) have already kindly donated an item or an experience for the Bishop Chavasse school community to have the chance to bid on such as a cut, blow-dry and conditioning treatment at Toni & Guy and a Wine Tour and Tasting at Squerryes vineyard. We will also have a number of fun experiences for the children to enjoy with the staff here at school, including Headteacher For The Day, a Super Mario gaming lunch hour, and a karaoke hour in class! The auction will all be online with chances to keep an eye throughout the week on the ‘lots’ you would like to bid on… A bidding war may even commence!
We hope that this will be one of our biggest and most successful fundraisers of the year and will raise money towards our ambitious goals as a PTA to raise money for books for the school library and exciting new playground equipment. However, as always, we need your help and support to achieve this! We are therefore asking whether you or anyone you know might be able to donate a prize or a ‘promise’?
· Can you offer a few hours of gardening, lawn mowing, decorating or DIY skills?
· Do you have a skill you can share – how to knit, draw, sing or play an instrument?
· Can you offer dog walking or an animal experience?
· Could you offer a holiday rental or accommodation?
· Do you have links with restaurants, pubs or cafés? Could you offer a meal or afternoon tea?
· Can you offer a round of golf, a trip on a boat, a drive in your classic car?
· Can you contribute something to a pamper hamper?
· Can you offer a language lesson or a tutoring session?
· Can you offer a wellbeing or exercise session for individuals or a group of friends?
These are just a few ideas – any suggestions are welcome! The more ‘lots’ we have, the more money we can raise for our wonderful school - so all donations will be very gratefully received. At the same time, we understand how challenging times have been for many families and businesses so please only give if you are able.
In return for your donation, we will help to promote your business to our community, both through website links and info on the auction website and through ‘shout outs’ on our social media pages. We will also be putting together an Auction Catalogue, where auction lots will be advertised.
The auction will launch online on Monday 19th May at 6pm. Bidding will be open to everyone, so we will be keen for the site to be shared with family, friends, neighbours and colleagues. The auction will close on Sunday 25th May at 9pm.
PTA Online Auction – Globetrotting Hampers
For our Online Auction running from 19th May – 24th May 2025 we are putting together Globetrotting Hampers for each year group to donate to be sold on the auction website as one of the many ‘lots’ available. For our auction hampers we have chosen countries as the theme. Each year group has been allocated a country below.
These hampers can contain anything that represents that particular country; from food, drink, hats, memorabilia, preloved items from holidays to even piñatas! Thinking outside of the box is a must!

Please could donated items be delivered to the school office by Wednesday 30th April. This will then allow enough time for the class reps, who have kindly offered to assist, to put the boxes together to be presented for the auction.
