Parents and carers can book a time slot at the Welcome Evening

Each session gives a slightly different insight into the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) school day, the curriculum and the outstanding provision we offer.

Parent Welcome Evening

Parents/carers are warmly invited to attend our welcome evening on Tuesday 3rd June where we will introduce you to the teaching team, explain the plans for transitioning your children and answer any questions. You are welcome to bring your child if you would like. There will be a uniform sale at the meeting.

Story Times

These story time sessions are a wonderful way to support your child to become familiar with the school environment. There is no need to book, please just turn up as many times as you like! Your child must be accompanied by one adult only please. Your child will have the opportunity to enjoy a couple of stories read to them by the EYFS teachers and staff.

Discovery Time

The Discovery Times are a wonderful opportunity to begin to get to know other children, families and staff here at the school. There will be a range of outdoor activities your children can explore in the EYFS outside area as well as one of the EYFS classrooms. The EYFS team will be keen to get to know you, please feel free to ask us any questions that you might have. Two adults can attend the Discovery Times, please come to as many as you like.

Taster Morning and Afternoon

By this point, you will have received a letter indicating who your child’s class teacher will be. These sessions are designed so that your child can meet all of the children that will be in their class in September. The children attend these sessions on their own: parents and carers will say goodbye to their child at the EYFS gate. These sessions really help the children to begin to understand what school will be like in September. Children will be collected from the EYFS outdoor area. We recommend that your child attends both of these sessions to be able to gain confidence before starting in September.

Home Visits

All children will receive a home visit from their class teacher and TA. If you would like the SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities Coordinator) to attend as well, please let us know at the point of booking your home visit.

Home visits are designed to help us get to know your child in their own environment, where they feel most safe and secure. It is a wonderful opportunity to discuss all of those little questions or concerns you might have.

We are mindful of parents’ work commitments and have timetabled a number of events in the hope you will be able to attend some or all. These are also timetabled around the learning and provision of current pupils at school.
