Bishop Chavasse Church of England Primary School is a new, vibrant Church of England School situated in the South of Tonbridge.
Although we only opened in September 2017, from the outset, Christian values have been at the heart of all we do and our Christian ethos is very strong. We have strong links with St. Stephen's Church and are proud of the excellent relationship we have with them.
As a church school we build on the foundation of our Christian values and these support every area of school life. The warmth and care of our children, staff and families is tangible and encourages everyone to give of their best, within our fully inclusive environment, where everyone is valued and diversity celebrated.
We are a school with a commitment to ensuring the highest quality education and care for all of our children. As part of the Tenax Schools Trust, our Christian values and ethos drives our passion for outstanding teaching and learning. This enables children to flourish at school, enjoy their learning, and make excellent progress. The staff team at Bishop Chavasse are dedicated to ensuring that the provision we provide for our children makes learning irresistible to them.
Every child is recognised as unique, and as staff we seek to nurture each child so that they develop in every area of their lives, from their own starting points. Our aim is that through an exciting curriculum and opportunities for enrichment, our children have high aspirations for all that they can achieve.
We know that your child's years in primary school and your relationship with us as parents are immensely important. In many ways, this will be the most formative time in your child's life. We will be working with you to help your child grow from Reception, through to their transition to secondary school. We consider that responsibility to be a huge privilege, which is why, at Bishop Chavasse School your child will be encouraged to always strive to achieve their best, to make lifelong friends, have fun and to be happy and confident individuals.
As the Headteacher, I am continually working closely with colleagues and governors to ensure that our school offers high standards of academic achievement and fulfilment. Class teachers and senior leaders meet every half term to discuss the progress of each child in reading, writing and maths so that children are always challenged to make good and outstanding progress in their learning. Interventions are put in place if children need extra help to achieve the aspirational targets that are set for them, and children with special educational needs are well supported to achieve their goals.
Our school offers full wrap around provision for your child and is open Monday to Friday from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm.
If you are looking for a school which has a strong community feel, where your child’s individual pastoral and learning needs are tailored just for them, then we are the school for you and your child.
I hope that once you have browsed our website, you will believe that ours is a school with a difference. Please contact us to arrange a visit us and see our children at learning and play and observe for yourself, the enticing learning opportunities our children access each and every day.
