Thursday the 25th of April saw the unveiling of our brand new library, which we know will quickly become an integral part of our school.
As a school we are passionate that all children have access to high quality text and they they become avid readers; reading is an essential life skill. Our school library aims to contribute to our pupils’ learning and development by providing a safe, stimulating and well-maintained environment which helps support teaching and learning and assists in our aim to raise achievement.
As well as providing information for learning in a variety of formats, we also want our library to encourage a real love of reading for pleasure to develop readers for life.
Through the use of our school library, we aim to improve reading skills and, in turn, improve both levels of attainment and progress in reading and writing.
As well as a school library we also have inspiring book areas in every classroom and independent breakout reading spaces, so that children have access to books in class both in order to support curriculum development and also books for self selection.
