Bishop Chavasse Primary School provides excellent pastoral care and enrichment opportunities. These range from opportunities to enhance thinking skills within a variety of contexts to additional ‘keeping up’ opportunities in mathematics and English. As the school grows with each new cohort, we will develop the range and number of clubs and activities on offer.
We want to make the most of activities, both integrated into the curriculum, and beyond it. Throughout the Early Years these are embedded through a range of opportunities, including ‘Plan, Do and Review’, creative play, ‘Messy Church’, Forest Schools, role play, visits and enrichment activities. As our children progress into Key Stages 1 and 2, these are then further enhanced through drama, public speaking, poetry recital and debating to enable them to become confident in speaking and listening.
Breakfast Club runs from 7:30am – 8:30 am every morning and is a relaxed way for the children to begin their school day. Pupil Premium children are able to attend this provision for free.
We offer a range of different enrichment opportunities after school each day. These lessons run from 3:30pm - 4:30pm each day. Our current enrichment timetable is as follows:
Monday - Music
Tuesday - Les Puces French
Wednesday - Let's Create arts and design
Thursday - Multi Sports
Friday - ICT computing
We also offer Golf lessons on a Wednesday lunchtime
After School Club
We recognise that parents often have commitments which require their child to attend our After School Club. This provision is run by school staff who provide a range of activities for the children.
All children who attend this provision receive a high tea, consisting of a sandwich, piece of fruit, biscuit snack and drink.
