Wider school opening update
Plans are being put in place to widen the opening of our school from the week beginning 1st June, following the Government’s recent announcement to this effect. This involves a detailed risk assessment being undertaken and specific plans put in place to ensure maximum pupil and staff safety on return. School staff are currently working on this and aim to publish details of how the school will widen its opening by Friday 22nd May. We will write to all parents with these details on that date as well.
Parents should note meanwhile that only year R and year 1 pupils will be involved in this wider opening. This will be in addition to those who are classed as vulnerable and children of critical workers, who continue to be eligible to attend.
The plans we will communicate on 22nd May will come into effect after the half term week providing the Government’s scientific advice to be published on Thursday 28th May gives us the go-ahead to put the plans into action.
Parents should note that the school will be closed for the Bank Holiday weekend and the normal school half term week from Monday to Friday 25th to 29th May. This means that the school buildings will be closed to all pupils and remote provision will be suspended for that week.
If your child is remaining at home with you but you wish to contact the office for clarity of work that has been set please refer to the our remote learning pages here on the website https://www.bishopchavasseschool.org.uk/childrens-remote-learning-3/
a list of teacher contacts are detailed on each classpage, but please do note that all staff are teaching Monday to Thursday.
