In science we have been learning about shadows. This Wednesday children will continue with their learning by making shadow puppets which include translucent and opaque sections. Next week we will be considering how different angles the light comes from affects the shadow.
Whilst walking under street lamps in these darker evenings, encourage children to notice what happens to the length of shadow of a person as they approach, walk under and then walk further away.
They might be able to extend by using a box, and shining their torch (the street light) through a hole in the lid. A Lego/plasticene person could pass through the box; going under the ‘lamp’.
Write, draw a picture, or take a photograph to show your learning.
